Consultation on the draft Product Emissions Standards Rules for non-road spark ignition engines and equipment

Closed 27 Nov 2017

Opened 30 Oct 2017

Overview

The Product Emissions Standards Act 2017 (PES Act) commenced on 15 September 2017. The PES Act allows the Minister to prescribe emissions-controlled products and make Rules relating to those product. The first emissions-controlled products to be regulated under the PES Act are non-road spark ignition engines and equipment (NRSIEE).

The Department of the Environment and Energy has drafted the Product Emissions Standards Rules (PES Rules) that set the emissions standards and detailed arrangements for NRSIEE. The Department welcomes your comments on these draft Rules.

If requested, the Department can make officers available to attend industry or stakeholder meetings to discuss the exposure draft of the PES Rules.

What Happens Next

Your submission will be used to inform the finalisation of the NRSIEE Rule.

The Department will provide a link to the NRSIEE Rules once approved by the Minister for the Environment and Energy.
