Overview

The new emissions standards for outdoor power equipment and marine engines commenced in January 2018. They will bring Australia into line with other countries that regulate outdoor power equipment and marine engine products. This will mean that from:

1 July 2018 — new outdoor power equipment and marine engines can no longer be imported into Australia must meet the new standards.

1 July 2019 — new outdoor power equipment and marine engines can no longer be supplied to the Australian market must meet the new standards.

This means suppliers will have at least 12 months to sell or dispose of any products that will not meet the new standards.
